Flamingo Tropic

Hello! Today I have a new shaker card to share that features one of the latest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . I love this one, you guys. It's called Flamingo Tropic, and since I was a teenager, I have had a huge obsession with flamingos. They are all over my kitchen, I have bags, jewelry, and yup...a bunch on my front lawn. I even switch them out the Skelemingos at Halloween time. So seeing those little flamingo sequins in this Sparkle Blend really made me giddy. Stampendous recently came out with this great layering stamp flamingo set called Flamingo Messages . It's perfect for using with Flamingo Tropic. I stamped it with a couple of the shades in the Berry Blast Kaleidacolor ink pad set from Imagine. If you look at the flamingo closely, you'll see a couple of shades on it. I really like the bright green sequins in this Sparkle Blend too. It adds a great contrast to the shades of pink. I used 2 Fitted Frames dies (from Stampendous) to make my shak

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with Aurora Wings. This month, we challenge you to create a black and white project, with or without a splash of color. I happen to love coloring in images in grayscale, so this was really inspiring for me. I decided to work with Mitzi's Jasmine Sprite. You can shop for here using these links: PNG File on Main Website JPEG on Main Website Etsy Shop Here's a look at my card.

Get Kids Crafty April 2018 Blog Hop

Greetings! It's my second Blog Hop this week! This is a super special one because it is for Get Kids Crafty , which is a super important topic for me. I think it is extremely important to get kids to create things and to let them play with our tools, supplies, and to teach them what we know as crafters to help them develop into little artists. My daughter (Miss R) is participating in this hop, which has the theme of "Ocean." She used one of the Manatees and shells from Beth Duff Designs' Manatee stamp set. In addition to coloring the 2 stamped images with Memento Markers from Imagine, she also did a number of other techniques. Miss R made her background with Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers. She applied them with an inking tool and spritzed the inks with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle to not only oxidize the inks, but to give the background a pretty shimmer. Once it was dried, she applied Tangerine Chalk Ink from Color Box to a Shell Wreath

Fleur de Lis Hello

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team is sharing projects featuring some of the new Parisian themed stamps and dies. Before I get to my card, I wanted to let you know that I am participating in the very first Doodles Paper Playground Blog Hop , and i would love it if you could check out my other post HERE . I promise, it's worth it! On to Stampendous... For my project, I decided to work with the Fleur de Lis die that is in the Paris Bonjour die set. There is no accompanying stamp for it, so I decided to use alcohol inks to create interesting patterns for my die cuts. Also, I really wanted to use the new "hello" stamp, and have it look as though it had been die cut. I simply traced the full stamp on to my piece of vellum and fussy cut it out. Now it looks like it has been die cut! My full instructions are below. Supplies: Stampendous : DCS5105: Paris Bonjour Die Cut Set SSC1283: Big Words Thanks DCP1006: Fitted Frames Set B Other : My Colors Cardstock: Sky B

I Wheelie Like You Shaker

Greetings! Today I have a shaker card to share with one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground , and this particular one is called Flaming Sunset . I really think this mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn is super adorable, and I thought that the wheel would make a fun shaker. I started off by stamping the wheel with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink from Imagine . I also stamped 3 hamsters on a separate piece of paper. I used 2 shades of gray Zig Clean Color markers to color in the wheel, and then using an X-Acto knife, I cut out the interior of the wheel. I also colored and die cut the hamsters. I wanted to repeat the sentiment several times using a gradation of colors, so I pulled out my Kaleidacolor inks, also from Imagine, and decided that the Cappuccino set was going to look the best with the Flaming Sunset Sparkle Blend. I placed with sentiment into my Stamp Platform and inked it with the lightest color. Then I moved my cardstock up about 1/2" and stamped t
