DICC #28

Hello! It's April 1st, so there is a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge for you! Our newest itinerary is from Patricia Hays. As usual, the challenge is to use at least 3 items off of the list. Here is Patricia's itinerary:

1. humorous or punny sentiment

2. no glitter

3. suitable for a child under 10

4. 2 or more patterned papers

5. sponging

6. masculine

7. clean and simple

8. pearls

9. punched or die cut embellishments

10. brown

I decided to make an Easter card for Phoenix. Shhhhhh!!! Don't tell him! I had this cute bunny boy from The Greeting Farm for, like, ever...so I just had to use this cutie for my cutie. I used #'s 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 10.

Isn't he a sweet? He's got hair kinda like Phoenix's to. I used my watercolor markers and Copics to color the image in. I sponged on some Evergreen Bough Distress Ink (yes, with a cosmetic sponge) around the edge of the white circle.

I kept is uber simple...only one patterned paper (which is insane for me!), a cool piece of yarn and 3 rhinestones, because Phoenix loves rhinestones!

Thankfully, I have the girl version of this bunny too...so I better get hopping and color her up for Rhiannon! Please be sure to visit the DICC blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with for this itinerary. I hope you'll play along!

2 quick suggestions, you should also be sure to check out the Bombshell Blog today, as well as the Simply B Stamps Blog. There are some great things happening at both of those places! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I'm glad to be the guest designer at DICC, and it's fun seeing what other stampers are doing with the itinerary.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
