Stenciled Love

Greetings! I am excited to share my project with you today. The Artists in Residence were challenged to share projects with the theme "Wet." In addition, we had the fantastic opportunity to collaborate with Stencil Girl, which is always so much fun. I decided to combine the collaboration with our theme to create a fun card.

I started off by using the Whimsical Waves stencil. It works with our "Wet" theme (though I've got more "wet" coming up!) I flipped it over to the back and inked it up with Rose Bud, Grape Jelly, and Teal Zeal Memento Ink.

Be sure to cover the entire stencil. Scraps can always be used later!

Next, I spritzed the stencil thoroughly with Sheer Shimmer Frost (see....more wet!). This allows the colors to blend while adding a beautiful shimmer to the ink.

Then I carefully flipped the stencil over on to my Bristol paper. I pressed and smooshed the wet ink around to be sure I had a good image. I let that dry and then trimmed it down to fi…

Cat Tree

Greetings! Seasons Greetings, that is. This week, the Stampendous Design Team has been sharing projects that use some of the new Christmas stamps and stencils featured in the July catalog. In addition, our creations have fabulous Bo Bunny paper on them. I adore the Vintage Double Dot collection. It goes with everything. My card features the Cat Tree stamp. I had to color this one because my mom has a LOT of cats. A lot. So I decided to color some of these cats to look like hers.

Snowman Peeking

Hello! At Stampendous, we are starting to think about Christmas in July. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, and usually it's not mine either. But with the release of the July catalog, the new Christmas (and other holiday) images have me almost dreaming of a White Christmas. In addition, we are sharing projects that use fantastic Bo Bunny paper, like their beloved Double Dot collection. Today, I am sharing the adorable Snowman Peeking stencil. There are so many opportunities to customize this guy! Full directions on how I made this card are below.  *I get free products from some companies (including Stampendous) to share projects with their items. We Match: Waffle Flower & Imagine Collaboration

Hello! The Artists in Residence for Imagine and Waffle Flower Crafts are doing a collaboration this month, and I am so excited about it. I was sent the adorable Enveloper Little Birdie Stamp Set, and I loved using it. Upon looking at some of their other sets, and I now have a nice sized wish list going of sets I would love to add to my collection. I decided to make a layout with the Little Birdie set, because it reminded me of  the matching Marimekko dresses that my daughter and I have. This layout also works for the Imagine Color of the Month, which is Pineapple.

The flowers on the dresses are very flat and only use one color. So after I stamped my images on to white cardstock with VersaFine ink in Majestic Blue, I used Memento Markers that are similar in colors to those on the dresses. And it took everything I have inside of me to NOT shade the flowers! I love to shade and blend when I color, but I really wanted to stay true to the fabric and keep the colors flat.

I created a mat ar…

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 8: Summertime Fun

Hello! I have finally had a chance to play along with the new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. This is a challenge blog that is all about sharing a love of Lawn Fawn products. And boy do I LOVE Lawn Fawn! I have wanted to play since the very first challenge, I even started a couple of projects, but I never had a chance to post them. But today is a new day! The theme for their 8th challenge is Summertime Fun. I was lucky a couple of weeks ago and I won a fantabulous prize pack from a flamingo-themed hop on Instagram. In the pack was the Flamingo Together stamp set that I have wanted for quite a while. So that's what I used on my card today. I was thinking about Summertime romances, and bold, bright skies.

I was really inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's latest videos, which is where I came up with the basic concept for this card. I sprayed an acrylic block with Imagine'sFireworks! Sprays in Rose Bud, Dandelion, and Bahama Bl…

Greetings! This week, the Stampendous team is sharing "Birthday Bonanza" projects! My card for today was so much fun to make. I am entering this card into the Anything Goes side of the latest House Mouse & Friends Challenge, #245. *Sometimes, I get free product to use for my projects, but I only use what I love. Itsy Bitsy Background

Hello! I have a "sweet" card to share with you today. This month, the Artists in Residence for Imaging were challenged with the theme "Itsy Bitsy." This post contains affiliate links at no cost to you.

I decided to focus on using the teeny stamps found in many stamp sets. In my case, I used Lawn Fawn's Baked with Love and Love 'N Breakfast. I added a bunch of the little stamps to an acrylic block in an arrangement that I liked and I inked them up with VersaFine in Onyx Black. I stamped an entire background piece of Bristol paper with these stamps, slightly turning the block as I went along. I wound up with only a few "holes" so I went in with a single stamp and filled in those empty areas. Then I heat embossed the background.

I stamped 4 cupcakes on to Mixed Media Paper and colored them with Memento Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I decided to make the cupcakes stand out more, so I used 2 circle punches and layered them und…

Smeared Ink Reunion Blog Hop!

Hello Guys and Ghouls! I am so stoked for today's Smeared Ink Reunion Blog Hop. Smeared & Smudged (as the group was called) was one of the reasons I made so many online friends, inspired me to make many of my dark and creepy projects, and was the 2nd DT I was ever on. So many stamps....so many memories. Terra, owner and founder decided it was high time for a reunion hop, so I absolutely had to play along. I'll be honest, my crafting time really diminished in the past couple of weeks, and my delusions of grandeur were shattered. So my project isn't over the top, but it is very Smeared.

I decided that since this hop is a little virtual party, I decided to use one of the fabulous little Grumpies. This guy with the party hat is too funny. I started off by  stamping him with VersaFine Ink and coloring him in with Memento Markers, both from Imagine on a piece of Smooth Bristol cardstock. I inked around the image and distressed the edges a bit.

Originally this guy was going …
