April Showers and Puddle Boots

Hello! We all know the saying, April showers bring May flowers. Well, the Stampendous team is celebrating the April showers this week! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this card (or it's components) before. I colored the images for The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. It's so much fun to try to color every day for an entire month. If you're not sure what I'm referring to, check out my Instagram HERE. Here's my project.

I started off by stamping the Puddle Boots with VersaFine ink in Tuxedo Black on to Canson Mixed Media Paper. Then I colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I fussy cut the image out, leaving a thin white border around the image.

The background was colored with the Laurel Burch Floral Reflections focal stamp. I adore the composition of these flowers. I've colored them a couple of times and they are just so pretty. I stamped the flowers in 2 opposing corners and colored them with my Zigs. My sentiment is from the La…

Make your Own Sunshine with WW

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. For this theme, we are sponsored by the fantastic Vera Lane. I love these images because they are fun and quirky. The challenge is "Make your Own Sunshine."

I used images from the Aloha set. The set comes with 5 images, but I only used 2 today. I colored the images on Canson Mixed Media Paper and colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I recently splurged a bit on myself and bought the 12 new Distress Oxide Inks from Tim Holtz, and my background was created with those.

I didn't think the images needed more embellishing, so I kept the ATC simple. I'm hoping to get another couple done for this challenge, so please check back. Meanwhile, give the Wicked Wednesday Blog a visit to see what the rest of the team has created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Lapis Lazuli Color Inspiration

Hello! Imagine chooses a color of the month of inspiration. For the month of April, it's Lapis, which is a beautiful blue. For my project, I took it a step further and used the gemstone Lapis Lazuli as my inspiration. The stone has veins of black and gold running through it, and sometimes has white speckles.
I used watercolor paper for my focal layer and I started off by spritzing Paris Dusk Fireworks! spray kind of on it's side, across the paper, as opposed to straight on to it. This created that outward spray effect that I wanted. Then I spritzed some Desert Sand Fireworks! spray, but directly above the project for some dice drops.

Next I stamped the small poppy from the Pretty Poppies set by Stampendous in the lower left corner. I also added some leaves. I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder, and while my heat tool was still on, I carefully sprinkled some black in a few areas. Then, using my Wedding White irRESISTables Pico Embellisher, I colored in a few a…

Coloring Books for Coloring Glass

Imagine has so many fun coloring products, and I've used a lot of them. But StazOn Studio Glaze was a product I had never used, and I decided it was time to give it a try! Glass Painting is a lot of fun, and StazOn Studio Glaze makes it so easy!

Coloring books for grownups seem to be all the rage lately, but what if you want to do something beyond the page? Sometimes it's a shame to hide those pretty designs in a book. This tutorial will show you how to use your favorite coloring book pages on glass.

1. As you can see, I had started to color this page already. But I thought it was so pretty, that I wanted to put it on a glass. This coloring book happens to be small, but you can use any size book. I photocopied the page and finished off the lines that were incomplete because they went off the page.

2. The bottom of my glass was really narrow, so I cut a few slits upwards into the image so that I could get it to fit better. Also, to make this project a whole lot easier, I took …

Lunar Eclipse: DCWV Collaboration with Imagine

Hello! The Imagine team was given various papers from different DCWV collections. I was given Zodiac, which is really an outer space/lunar set. Gorgeous blues, purples, and holographic papers with wonderful starry patterns. Needless to say, this collection was right up my alley.

I had taken a photo of the lunar eclipse that occurred back in September of 2015 with my cell phone, through my mom's telescope. I absolutely love this photo, and I knew that these papers would highlight it perfectly.

I cut out a few circles in a variety of sizes from DCWV's Brights Collection. Then I sprayed my craft mat, blew on the spray a little and tapped the circles into the color. Here, I am using Tuxedo Black, but I also did this with Paris Blue. For the gray circles, I used Sheer Shimmer Frost.

I sprayed Sheer Sparkle Shimmer to the background paper and to the cut out circles, for some extra sparkle. I dribbled a little Sheer Shimmer Frost in the background paper as well.

This pretty ribbon f…
