You Make the World Beautiful: Focus on Delicata Ink

Hello! During the month of September, the Imagine Artists in Residence were challenged to use the super lustrous Delicata Inks. Well, this is no challenge for me, as I absolutely LOVE these inks. They have the most beautiful glimmer to them. All of the inks used on my card today are Delicata inks. And perhaps you are noticing a few new colors... In August, Imagine introduced 6 brand new Delicata colors, and today I am using 4 of them.  My card uses stamps from the Hero Arts "You Are Loved" stamp set. I love this set becuase of all of the beautiful messages it has, but also because a portion of the proceeds go to an anti-bullying campaign.

Directions:
1. Stamp the globe on to Smooth Bristol Paper (it doesn't have to be this paper, but I love how smooth it is, and that it holds ink really well) with VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black. Emboss the image with Black Embossing Powder.

2. Using a Brush Tip Fantastix, apply the Emerald Green Delicata Ink to where the "land" i…

Planning for Halloween: Glass Bottle

Hello! It's almost the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas. For me, it's Halloween. I love the spookiness, the dressing up, the decorations, everything. So I always plan out a lot of projects for this time of year, and I love to go way beyond the card and make decorations for my home. This month, the Imagine Artists in Residence are creating "Holiday Planning" projects, and this is mine.

I started off with this small bottle that held syrup from one of my favorite restaurants, Cracker Barrel. I love that they give you these individual bottles when you order pancakes, French Toast, etc. I always bring them home to use as storage for sequins, seed beads, etc.

The bottles have these great embossed designs which make decorating simple. I decided to use my Studio Glaze in St. Valentine, as these shapes reminded me of drops of blood. I laid the bottle down on to a paper towel to keep it from rolling around. But in the end, I wound up just holding it to add t…

You are Fantastic

Greetings! I have a new card to share with you today...one featuring one of the new Simon Says Stamp exclusive STAMPtember sets, Amazing Messages. I will be using this card in the latest Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, which is "Stamp It." They asked if participants could use SSS Exclusive products, though it isn't a requirement. Since Simon Says Stamp gave me the Amazing Messages stamp set to help promote STAMPtember, I am excited to be be sharing this card with you today.

I started off by inking up the "Fantastic" stamp with VersaFine ink on to Canson Mixed Media Paper. I love to use this paper for my watercolor markers, so I colored the image up with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I cut the image out, leaving a bit of a white border around it. If you've been visiting my blog or my Instagram lately, you will know that I am head over heels with making Magic Color Slider cards with Lawn Fawn's unique die. The die set comes with 3 shapes that bec…

Magical Unicorn Slider Card

Hello! Today I have a card that was so much fun to make! And even more fun to play with! But shhhh!!!! Don't tell my daughter! I made it for her first day of school. I used lots of Lawn Fawn to make the card, and I think she's going to love it.

So this card doesn't look too fancy, right? Unless of course you know just how magical Magic Color Slider Cards can be!

This is what you see when you pull up the little tab at the top of the card. Magically, the image is colored! I'm telling you, I am having a blast making these. You of course need the Magic Color Slider Die, and then you can use any stamps you want. The die set is so clever, and gives you several different fun options to help you customize your slider.

I went with the Unicorn from the Critters Ever After Set. She was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a touch of Wink of Stella. My sentiment is from the Believe in Yourself mini set, that co…

You are So Amazing!

Greetings! I am very excited t be participating in this year's Stamptember from Simon Says Stamp. I was given a free set of new and exclusive stamps to work with, and what a fun set it is! It's called Amazing Messages and I will be using it quite a bit. My children will too. In fact, my daughter used the set before I had a chance to. ;) I'll be sharing her card within the next couple of days.

I stamped the image on to Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black. I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Markers and cut out the image with a loose border. I tend to color things without thinking much about the completed project. I typically just let loose and color, and then find out what works to finish it all up later. This card is no different. After I colored the image in these sort of sun set colors, I knew I had to break out my Distress Oxide inks and create a similar look with them.

Also on Canson Mixed Me…

Owl Galaxy

Hello! Today, I have a card to share that I made for the latest Simon Says Stamp Challenge, which is Anything Goes. They are featuring Hero Arts this week, so I wanted to show them off a bit as well too. This post contains affiliate links, at no cost to you.

I used Dreams May Come from Hero Arts for my card. I love this pretty set. I started off by making my background on watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Black Soot, Salty Ocean, Wild Honey, and Worn Lipstick. I blended the bright colors first with my Ink Blending Tools, and then went over them with the Black Soot. To make it really look like a sky, I splattered Wedding Dress irRESISTables, and Golden Glitz Delicata Reinker from Imagine all over the background. The little "stars" the splatters create really make the galaxy come to life.

Next I stamped out the images with VersaMark ink, and I heat embossed them with Detail White Embossing Powder from Stampendous. My card base was made out of a deep purple card…

Woody Christmas

Greetings! This week the Stampendous team is featuring projects with "Trees." Christmas trees, spooky trees, stenciled trees, etc. For my project today, I decided to use one of my favorite Christmas images from the July catalog, Woody Christmas. Botanic Hello Shaker Card

Hello! Botanic Hello that is..... Today, I have a card to share that I made for Imagine's current challenge, which is "Movement," made with Mama Elephant's Botanic Hello stamp. The theme had all sorts of ideas swirling in my head, but I decided I really wanted to make a shaker card, filled not just with sequins, but seed beads as well.

I started off by coloring this beautiful image, which I stamped with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black. This stamp may seem daunting at first, but if you break it down into chunks, coloring it can go pretty fast. I started off with the leaves, then the flowers I colored in shades of blue, then the last group of flowers. I fussy cut the image out, then decided to add some glitter to the "hello." Using On Point Glue,  I applied it to the top third of the letter, sprinkled on some glitter, and shook off the excess. I repeated this step twice more to complete the word. On Point Glue dries quickly, but I let it sit aside for a bit while…

Mystical Unicorn

Greetings! This month, the theme given to the Artists in Residence from Imagine is "Mystical." This is right up my alley and I could have done an entire series of Mystical things. But I decided to reign myself in and work with a beautiful unicorn from Stampendous.

I stamped the unicorn on to Mixed Media Paper because it really helps the Memento Markers move and blend really well. I die cut the image with a die larger than I would typically use because I wanted to create an inked border with the die size that fits the image better. I die cut a mask with the smaller die and temporarily taped it on. Using a sponge dauber, I applied Summer Sky ink, and then Nautical Blue.

My background was created on Smooth Bristol paper. I swiped my Vineyard Kalediacolor across my Craft Mat. I only swiped it once to avoid mixing the colors on the ink pad itself. Then, I sprayed the ink with a combination of Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle and Ink Potion No. 9. Next I dragged the Bristol paper t…
