Rainy Day Farewell

It's the Dream Teams's last theme for the month of April with our interpretation of "Showers to Showers."  It is also our last post together under the direction of Dreamweaver's founder, Lynell Harlow. We are shedding bittersweet tears as we close one door and open a new one with Stampendous. Lynell has been an enormous inspiration to me over the past 3 years and it has been my privilege to learn the art of stenciling through her.  She's a delightful person and I sure hope we continue to see her and Wayne in the industry.  Their Zendays Wednesdays blog posts are delightful.  Good luck Lynell and we are so happy Dreamweaver has found a new home with Stampendous!

I used several fantastic Dreamweaver Stencils for this card, as well as a couple of Stampendous! stamps to tie in our wonderful new alignment. After I colored the sweet Potted Mouse with alcohol markers, I used the fantastic Picasso Stencil to create the clouds in the background with ink. After that, I applied the Rain stencil with Transparent Embossing Paste. Here's a close up.

I love how the drops look real! Next, I used the Quatrefoil stencil for my pink cardstock. I used 3 shades of brown to ink it, going from dark to light. Then I inked up the Damask stencil in an olive green for my cardstock base.

My sentiment is also from Stampendous! and it comes from the Life Words set. I photographed it with a glare so that you could see how it looks with the irRESISTables spray that I used on the sentiment. Again, I am truly going to miss working closely with Lynell. She is just incredible, so very knowledgeable, and an awesome person. Thank you for absolutely everything, Lynell! Here are the folks posting today:

Alison...your card is absolutely charming! Just like you! I regret that we have not yet had time to chat on the phone. Let's do it sometime, OK? You totally amaze me with the range of your creative talents...and your children reflect this spirit of creativity too! I have thoroughly enjoyed having you as part of our team.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
